The Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Center, Inc., is an interfaith, private non-profit
agency established to:

Provide pastoral counseling within the context of a state-licensed, outpatient
psychiatric clinic for:

Personal aid to individuals, families and groups desiring professional help
in coping with problems and to those who are amenable to counseling within a
spiritual environment.

Clinical training in counseling for the spiritual and religious leaders of
the community.

Combine the insights and motivating forces of spirituality and religion with
psychological and psychiatric knowledge for:

The training and continuing development of counseling skills among pastors,
professionals and lay persons of all religious faiths in order that they may
perform counseling functions within their own contexts;

The conduct of seminars and workshops on many aspects of mental health, spiritual
and religious and personal growth;

The sponsorship of institutes to bring together persons of various
professions for study on the interrelation of spirituality, religion and mental health.
OPCC is certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH). OMH regulates the provision of clinical services to persons with a diagnosed mental
illness and is the basis of our ability to receive Medicaid reimbursement as well as
to attract quality managed care organizations.
With 10 counseling offices in area churches and in commercial space in two counties
(Onondaga, and Oswego), OPCC is the third largest provider of outpatient
services in the Central New York area. The Center has an interdisciplinary staff of
pastoral counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, child play
therapist, psychologists and a psychiatrist, and nurse practitioners.
